Stubbe's Countrywide is a family-owned, full-service retailer of floor coverings, furniture, bedding, appliances, and accessories.

Our strong family leadership requires honest and ethical business practices from every member of our business every day. We have established and maintained a reputation of friendly, knowledgeable service, quality selection, and exceptional value.

Our business began in 1969 in Norwich, Ontario, when Isaac Stubbe and the late John Honcoop developed a partnership under the name of H & S Furniture. Mr.Stubbe ran the business on a day-to-day basis, while Mr. Honcoop worked elsewhere. In the few years following, the partners purchased an existing furniture store in Tillsonburg, and built a new 5,000 square foot warehouse addition.

In 1984, after the sudden passing away of Mr. Honcoop, Mr. Stubbe and his wife, Catherine, purchased all the shares of the corporation, and changed the name to Stubbe's Furniture Inc.

As part of a nationwide marketing strategy with our buying group, Mega Group, Stubbes Furniture Inc. changed its marketing name in 1995 to Stubbe's Countrywide.A new 28,000 square foot showroom in Tillsonburg was opened at the same time, offering a new FloorsFirst flooring area, a new appliance gallery, and a greater furniture, bedding & accessory selection. Our Norwich store was closed due to its close proximity to Tillsonburg.

In 1998 Stubbe's Countrywide was re-organized to include Gerrard, Martin, and Dave Stubbe as shareholders/owners of the corporation. This strengthens our family commitment to serve our valuable customers well into the future.

With our full-line home furnishings showroom in Tillsonburg, Stubbe's Countrywide offers complete product selection, complementary in-home design consulting service and expert delivery & installation to meet all our customers' needs.
